Welcome to Landskrona

Landskrona is a little picturesque town by the Öresund, with an adorable view over the small island Ven away to Denmark, just across the Sound, and the magnificent 16th century Citadel Castle, considered as one of the best preserved water fortresses in Scandinavia.
Lots of tourists come to visit this charming little town every year. Life is easy here; in the cosy centre, with a number of historical buildings, a day spent on strolling among the numerous outdoor cafés and restaurants is relaxing, as well as spending some time in one of the many beautiful parks here.

There is quite a lot to see in the surroundings of Landskrona, too. First, naturally, is the isle Ven with the museum dedicated the astronomer Tycho Brahe; but the beauty of charming villages like Borstahusen or Glumslö, known for its superbly situated castle in Örenäs (today a tourist and conference hotel) and a passage grave, should not be missed either.

Borstahusen is a place where many people make a stop on their way to Ven. The village has genuine fishermen buildings from the 1770's and an open-air recreation area where sandy beach, long shallows and bathing jetties are truly tempting.

Flygeltofta, Häljarp, valleys of Hilleshög and Härslövsåsen ridge are places most suitable for a day trip with a picnic basket. Those areas offer spectacular views over the slopes, prehistoric remains, medieval churches and old mills, along with bird watching, hiking and fishing eel or trout in Saxån.
