Ven - "the Pear of Öresund"
What is so special with this little island – only 7,5 square kilometres – which lifts out of the Öresund, between Denmark and Sweden? First, Ven has quite distinctive nature surroundings in comparison to the rest of Sweden. A sloping plateau with grass covered Backafallen hills, rich, rare flora and seashore with sandy beaches. The whole isle is a natural reserve.
The isle is a great place for a bicycle tours, picnics and a dip in the sea. The views over Denmark and Sweden are breathtaking. Then we have world famous museum with the beautiful renaissance garden – the astronomer’s Tycho Brahe museum.
Add to that a good food, a chance for a visit in one of the isles many art studios, a golf course and you have a day or two of perfect vacation.
